Wednesday, March 30, 2011: To Borrow From Star Wars, Chapter IV, A New Hope...................

Thought I'd resurrect this blog site for myself and try and gain a wider audience for some pithy, and hopefully humorous, takes on national news, crossword anomalies and other insights of the day. Frankly, everybody has a twitter page, facebook account, and the like, and I think that my daily "ruminations" are as good as the next guy's................ Actually, hopefully, a "cut above" the next guy's................ Still, it takes diligence and a certain amount of dedication to try and offer up something that is valuable and timely to a reading audience. I'm going to dedicate myself to giving it a 30-day trial period and see if I can establish a following of some sort. God knows I have enough in the way of hobbies: everything from all matters literary, journalistic, theatrical and otherwise, to such extreme sports topics as rappelling, kayaking, hiking, and roller coasters (yes, I think we can safely call them an extreme sport...........lol). Add to that my now 4-year (and counting) obsession with exercise and fitness, my re-dedication to the art of playing competitive duplicate bridge (usually not very well!), my daily completion of 2-3 crossword puzzles, and 5-6 conventions a year, ranging on everything from the Humana Festival of New American Plays to the MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) analysis of just what is happening in the Night Skies, and, well, I think you get the idea. I am deciedley, irrefutably, one hepcat who takes great pride in residing well "outside the box," and definitely "left of center." And so, we're off to the races................
